Everyday Psychic Protection

We have an energy body around our physical one that reflects what we are thinking and feeling. People around us pick up our frequency with their energy antenna. Like attract like so be aware of your thoughts as positive thoughts attract positive experiences while negative thoughts attract negative ones. Understanding the hermetic principle “As above, so below. As within, so without” helps us to see the interconnectedness within this entire universe, making us realise that we create our entire reality - consciously or unconsciously.

Our earthly and psychic actions are linked. If you are always feeling rushed or live in a cluttered environment, negative energies tend to accumulate within your energy field. Only a handful of us have the time and space to withdraw for long periods to re-establish our inner harmony that enable us to interact with others without being affected by their energies.

 

As we become more conscious, we also become more sensitive to energies around us. We tend to be more aware of the effect of certain places and people on our own energy field. Psychic protection surrounds us with a protective barrier within which we can safely go about our daily life.

By practicing some simple methods of psychic protection, you learn to balance your energies so that you can remain calm and composed regardless of external influences.
These routine actions create a barrier against the outside world and strengthen the boundaries between you and the outside world.

 

Protection
By being aware of surrounding energies, you are exposed to a new realm of distractions. Astral entities may be attracted to your increased energy or activities. The purpose of this exercise is to block out all intrusive or malicious vibrations from other sources.

Simply imagine yourself inside a ball of white light that repels any energy before it can touch you. Visualise this ball of light around you extending a foot above your head and 6 inches below your feet. Just make it fit around your body in whatever shape seems most comfortable. Enforce the energy in the areas above and below to be just as strong as the areas in front and behind you. Hold the image of an impenetrable force field in your mind for at least a minute or two, before returning to your everyday life.



Grounding

Grounding ourselves is a way of bringing ourselves back to Earth. Some of us are more prone to living in our heads and not being firmly rooted in our bodies. People living in this manner tend have imbalance in their lower chakras and face issues with their finance, sexuality and all other material aspects in their life. You will know that you need to ground yourself when you feel scattered, constantly light-headed, have difficulty focusing, feel disconnected from your emotions and spend most of your time day-dreaming.

 

It is important to remember that we are still living on Earth so staying physically grounded keeps us aligned with nature and of course, with our Divine selves. Our natural connection to the Earth can get easily forgotten especially when you live and work in a high-rise building, travel in crowded spaces or spend a lot of time with computers and electrical devices.

 

The simplest way to ground is to stand barefoot on grass or earth. Raise your hands above your head while breathing in, then extend your fingers and slowly lower them downwards to the earth while breathing out letting all negative energies drain away.

 

You can also imagine roots growing out of the soles of your feet and moving deep into the ground. Go for regular nature walks in parks, forest reserves or by the beach to reconnect with the nurturing energies of the Earth. Activities like dancing as well as physical exercise such as yoga, tai chi and basketball that get us in touch with our bodies helps us to ground too.

 

As we ground ourselves, we also receive powerful energy from the Earth blessing us in return. By grounding ourselves regularly, our bodies become a strong container in which our spirits can dwell productively.

  

Centering
Children, sick or lonely people and some unhappy friends can drain us of our natural reserves of strength. Sometimes we cannot shield ourselves from them as we need to give out loving energies and be present to them. What we need to do is to centre ourselves so that we do not become so overly sympathetic or concerned that our own peace of mind and ability to cope is disrupted.


This method is very effective if you are receiving impressions from many different sources and having conflicting demands on your time and energies till you feel that you are being drained of energy.

Even in the most positive relationship, there are times when we overextend ourselves and get entangled with the other person’s energies. If you are centred, you can focus on yourself and allow your natural restorative energies to come into action.

 

Hold your arms by your side and visualise all the energies that are not yours leaving your body and those that are yours which are scattered returning and forming a circle of light in the centre of your head parallel to your third eye (the area between your eyes). Stay with this visualisation while breathing rhythmically for a few minutes. You will feel a lot more centred and alert after this exercise.
